Welding
The weld log: every joint of a drawing, one live grid.
Summary first — status distribution, NDE completion, open rejects, diameter-inches earned — then the detail, dense enough to actually work in.
- Filters are links. Status chips and saved views serialize to the URL — paste “these 14 rejected welds” straight into an email.
- Repair lineage, threaded. 01 → 1R → 1RC stays one story: cut-outs clear heats and raise a visible traceability flag until re-entered.
- Bulk actions that show their drop-outs. Select a run of welds and send NDE requests, complete, or sign — rows that don’t qualify are named, with reasons in plain language.
- Nothing hidden, nothing inflated. Validation issues are never buried, and voided welds are excluded from every rollup — removing a weld can never improve your numbers.

One send, one request per contractor
Select welds across drawings and send — mixed selections split automatically. Technician lists show only techs certified for the method, and film fields appear only when project policy requires them.
Review with consequences stated
Accepting is one tap. Rejecting is a deliberate ceremony: controlled defect vocabulary, required report number, welder attribution feeding lots and stats — consequences first, never buried.
Film, first-class
Film intervals and the radiograph log live on the inspection record — shot number, technique, density, IQI — feeding the film log report without re-keying.
Enforced to the code
Inspection classes encode the percentages your code requires — carried forward from the live platform: ASME B31.3 process piping, B31.1 power piping, and API 1104 pipeline, with AWS D1.1 structural steel in progress. Joints can’t be examined out of sequence or below sample rate.
Test packages & turnover
The databook compiles itself.
Turnover is the deliverable your client is actually paying for. In MaxTrax it compiles from the weld-through-NDE record — not from a week of hunting PDFs.
- Gap analysis, grouped by who fixes it. Welding crew, NDE contractor, doc control, signers — “who do I chase” is answered on the page, and every gap is one click from its fix.
- Ordered sign-off, done right. Signature lines unlock in your project’s order; removing one invalidates the ones after it, each removal audited with a reason. Plain attestation blocks — printed name, meaning, timestamp.
- Draft vs official. An official book compiles only after every signature lands — and a delivered book flips to “stale” if the package changes underneath it, with a diff naming exactly what moved.
- Delivery that lasts. Clients get durable, revocable links — not an expiring URL that dies before Monday’s meeting.

Welders & qualifications
Expired quals never reach a production joint.
An expired qualification on a production joint is the costliest routine compliance failure in the trade. MaxTrax closes it structurally — at the moment of entry, not at the audit.
- Continuity from the log. Each qualification cites the specific production weld that maintained it. No connected welding machines required — the evidence is the weld log you already keep.
- The lapse forecast. See who lapses in 30/60/90 days if nothing changes — and assign the maintaining weld before it happens.
- Progressive examination, drawn. When a sampled weld fails, the escalation isn’t a paragraph in your spec — it’s a diagram: what got pulled in, at which level, and what happens if the next one fails.
- Decision-time enforcement. The weld-completion picker shows each stencil’s qualification state inline. Expired quals block at the server, not in a report three weeks later.

Excel is a feature, not the enemy.
Your coordinators live in spreadsheets — so MaxTrax treats the workbook as a first-class interface instead of pretending it away.
Check out, edit, return
Pull the project workbook, edit in Excel, return it. Changes come back as audited, row-level commands — version conflicts stop per row, and absence never means delete.
Imports that triage themselves
Clean rows apply; problem rows quarantine, grouped by error type. One fix clears a cluster, a burn-down tracks the rest, and re-imports diff against the last run — no duplicate-append surprises.
Take your data anywhere
Governed views, scheduled exports in industry-standard formats, and BI-tool embed that works with whatever analytics stack you run. Your data is yours — that’s the point.

Numbers that can never disagree.
The dashboard tile, the grid badge, the drawer, and the printed report all read one derivation. When your rejected-inches number reaches the boardroom, it’s the same number the inspector saw at the weld — so a welder’s rising reject rate surfaces before the next shift, not at turnover, and rework gets caught while it’s still cheap to fix.
